Supporting InterFaith: WAYS TO GIVE

Patient fees usually comprise about 25% of the Center's income. The remaining income comes from numerous sources, including donations from local hospitals, individuals, businesses, charitable foundations and religious congregations. InterFaith also relies heavily on foundation grants, special events, and support from the United Way of Greater Knoxville. We are proud to report that InterFaith Health Center receives funding from the Mount Rest Fund of East Tennessee Foundation. While InterFaith receives no federal funding, the Center does receive funds from the state of Tennessee through the health care safety net grant program.
Nearly 90% of the Center's's income goes directly to patient care. The average patient visit costs the clinic $65, while the average patient pays only $15. The $50 difference must be made up through charitable gifts. In other words, each $50 donated pays for one patient to receive affordable health care at InterFaith. InterFaith offers a variety of easy and secure ways to give:

Gifts of cash and/or stock
Donations of cash and stock donations are always appreciated at the Center. With gifts of stock you might benefit by not having to pay any capital gains tax on the increase in value of the stock. You might also be eligible to receive an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the stock when you make the gift. Click here to make a secure online donation now.

Gifts In-Kind
Generous donations of gifts-in-kind reduce administrative costs. Local medical and dental communities, equipment manufactures and the Knoxville Junior League donated the majority of the Center's original equipment, and InterFaith still relies heavily on donated products and equipment to keep our operating costs low.

Charitable giving through wills
The easiest way to make a charitable gift is by an outright bequest of cash in your will. Bequests may be specific amounts or assets and may be proportional or residual in nature.
Financial Accounts
Most checking, savings, and brokerage accounts can be bequeathed to InterFaith Health Clinic through a simple "payable on death" designation with your financial institution.
Matching Gifts
Participating companies match the amount of dollars given by employees to the qualifying charity of their choice. The company gives the matching gift only after the employee donor has made their gift and completed the company's matching gift process.
IRAs and Retirement Plans
If you have funds in an IRA or employer-sponsored retirement plan, you can name InterFaith Health Center as a beneficiary. Naming InterFaith as primary, partial, or contingent beneficiary may provide tax savings.
Charitable Trusts and Charitable Annuities
Charitable trusts and charitable annuities are additional avenues for giving to the InterFaith Health Center. For more information concerning these methods of planned giving, please contact our Development Director, Beth Farrow at 865-243-3035 or bfarrow@interfaithhealthclinic.org
