Medication Policies for Current Patients
InterFaith can dispense medication only for our established patients. If you are going to run out of medicine before your next visit, please call at least three business days before you run out. We do not have narcotics or sedatives. If we have your medicine, we can give it to you for a fee of $15 per bottle. When calling for refills, please specify whether you want a 30 or 90-day supply.
Many medicines not on the $4 list at Kroger/Wal-Mart/Food City/Target are stocked by our dispensary or are ordered from drug companies. We can help you navigate the different programs to find the cheapest way for you to obtain each medication. To order brand-name medication we must have a current 1040 tax form or social security letter. If you miss an appointment without calling 24 hours in advance, we cannot give you your medicine until you return for another appointment. Also, if you call for your medicine and then don't pick it up, it will be counted against you as a missed appointment. |
Access to Prescription Medications
While InterFaith Health Center does provide access to medications, the clinic does not have a pharmacy. Rather, InterFaith is considered a physician-dispensed site and dispenses a variety of prescription medications, excluding narcotics. The majority of these medications are obtained through patient assistance programs through the various pharmaceutical companies, while some are collected from donations from individuals and private practices. All the medications in our formulary, regardless of cost, are available to patients for a flat $15 handling fee for a three-month supply.
