Patients and our sliding fee scale...
PATIENTS:
InterFaith Health Clinic patients are the working without insurance. Many of our patients are employed by hotels, restaurants and salons. They are temporary employees or are recently hired and on a probationary period. Our patients are also people who lack supplemental policies covering medication. Without InterFaith, these patients could not afford doctor's visits or necessary medication.
SLIDING FEE SCALE:
InterFaith is not a free clinic. Patients are charged according to a sliding fee scale based on the number of people in the household and the total household income. The sliding fee scale ranges from 10% to 50%. Most patients fall at the 10% level of the scale. A four-person household earning between $5,400 and $21,385 per year would fall at the 10% level. The average visit cost the clinic $55, while most patients pay $15. The difference is made up with donations to the clinic.
PATIENT REQUIREMENTS:
Insurance Guidelines–InterFaith patients have no medical insurance and are not eligible for TennCare.
InterFaith patients' household incomes fall between the indigent level and 250% of the poverty level.
